As it's taking a bit of time to get anywhere with my 'steampunk' idea, I looked elsewhere for ideas. I've taken inspiration from an article in this month's BJP by Eugenia Maximova's images of ornately decorated gravestones in the cemeteries of the former soviet territories, my thoughts turned to the headstones of the travelling community, which, like the headstones of those featured, are ornately decorated and maintained by their community. I'll ask my tutor if this might be a good idea.
My tutor suggests that the idea of taking photo's of the headstones might make an interesting set but the subject may not give me the scope for the variety of images the assignment requires so I'll focus on the steampunk area.
