John Blakemore (landscapes)

Another British photographer of landscapes and still life.

He was born in Coventry and discovered photography during his national service within the RAF and is self taught. He photographed the people of Coventry ad it's post war reconstruction as a freelance photographer. He later became professor of photography at the university of derby, where he taught from 1970 - 2001.

I do feel more of a connection with British photographers, for obvious reasons, but more than that I like to recognise an image whether visually or geographically, this creates a connection allowing for inspiration to grow.

The image below is from the 'tulips', I like the depth of tone making the image look almost 3D.
