Project - creative interpretation

The last three exercised have essentially been about getting the image 'right', in the sense of a broadly accepted standard of correctness in tone and colour. The notion of having the black and white points set so that there is no clipping in the highlights or the shadows, and yet the image has a full range of contrast, is a well-accepted one throughout the photography industry. Stock agencies for example, demand this as part of their quality control.

Nevertheless, there is a point at which you personal taste may take over. 'Correct' is, after all, only a generally agreed condition, not a compulsory rule. In the following exercise this more interesting areas of processing is explored to create different interpretations of the same original shot. There is no hard line separating optimising from interpretation, here, I am to push the limits of adjustment to make versions that are distinctly mine, and different from anyone else's! This should be fun!
